On the way to the most sustainable solar module in the world

Sustainability without compromise.

Did you know we manufactureour solar modules and solar cells exclusively installed in Germany in Freiberg and Thalheim (city of Bitterfeld-Wolfen), and that for this purpose we supply our own production technologies from Hohenstein-Ernstthal?

We produce using exclusively 100% renewable electricity, establish short transport routes and secure distribution chains. This makes our high-performance solar modules particularly sustainable. Sustainability without compromise.

For us, it is particularly important to contribute to the creation of regional value. That's why we work preferentially with local, regional and European suppliers, which creates jobs and reduces CO2 emissions.


Reduction where it is important to reduce.

In collaboration with Fraunhofer ISE, we recently carried out a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This includes a full assessment of the environmental impact throughout the life cycle of our Heterojunction solar modules, from the extraction of raw materials to the recycling of the modules, including the other system components.


-Unlike a PERC module produced in China, we produce 24% (for "glass-sheet" modules) and 36% (for "glass-glass" modules) less CO2 emissions.

In polysilicon production, we reduced CO2 emissions by 42% by using silicon from Wacker Chemie AG.


In terms of our transport routes, we can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 88% compared to a Chinese module.


In a temperate continental climate, the energy recovery time is less than a year for all Meyer Burger solar modules.


Pounds of toxic substances. Total efficiency.

For us, it is fundamental to use sustainable, resource-saving materials and to avoid the use of toxic substances. Only in this way can we create a product of superior quality, without compromising sustainability and capable of meeting our high standards of ethical and technological quality. With this goal in mind, we were able to reduce our silver consumption by 65%. Thanks to a special combination of materials, our solar modules are also free of toxic substances such as lead and fluoropolymers.
